Strawberry Lemonade

It's HOT OUT HERE!

It's HOT out HERE!....I think it's 100 degrees and so you know what that means people, time for some lemonade! I love lemonade, ice cold homemade lemonade with fresh lemon juice and zest.

What's better than lemonade....strawberry lemonade made with some nice organic strawberries or if your lucky, strawberries right out your backyard.

This recipe is so simple, but good. I took some strawberries and I pretty much macerated them, fancy talk for soaked in sugar and water. Pretty much creating a simple syrup.

I took the simple syrup and ,then strained the liquid into a large picture. After all that, which was quick and simple, I added the lemon juice, strained liquid, more sugar and water and filled the jug up with ice.

Simple enough and really tasty.

Drink UP PEOPLE!

Strawberry Lemonade

2 lbs. strawberries
1 cup lemon juice, around 6 small lemons plus zest of all lemons.
32 oz. water + more if desired
1 3/4 cups C & H pure cane sugar

Directions:

Remove tops off of rinsed strawberries and set aside. Place strawberries, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar plus lemon zest in a large stock pan over medium heat.

Allow strawberries to cook for about 10 minutes. Mash strawberries very well. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Add to a blender and blend, being careful because it's still semi-hot. Strain mixture through a fine sieve into a large jug.

Add remaining water, lemon juice, and sugar. Stir well, fill picture with ice and serve with sliced lemons and strawberries. Enjoy!

  1. I've been making this for the past week because I didn't want my strawberries to spoil. I love all of your recipes.
