Chocolate Dreaming Cake with Nutella Buttercream

Nutella Love!

First, who doesn't love Chocolate? Secondly, who doesn't love chocolate and Nutella? I have yet to meet one person. I know I am a couple days late for world Nutella day. I was undecided about what I wanted to do with my lovely jar of nutella.

I started to just eat it with a spoon, then I said maybe I should make some biscuits and dip them in Nutella? Well, when looking for an ideal of what to do with Nutella and Chocolate, where else would one go besides, you guessed it,  pinterest

I came across the beautiful Ms. Libby's, of Twirl and Taste All-American Chocolate Cake and I was convinced, that Chocolate Cake and Nutella was the way to go!

Chocolate Dreaming Cake with Nutella Buttercream Frosting

Adapted from Twirl and Taste

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
3/4 cup cocoa
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 stick of butter melted
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 cup boiling hot coffee

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour two 9" layer cake pans. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, sift  flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, mix well. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla and beat well  until combined, about 2 minutes. Heat coffee until boiling hot. Add coffee to batter and divide batter between the two pans.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes or when  a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire rack while preparing the buttercream frosting.

Nutella Buttercream:

3 c. confectioner sugar
1 stick of butter, room temperature
1 pack of cream cheese, room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nutella
3 tbsp. milk

In a mixer beat butter and cream cheese for about 3 minutes on medium speed, until light and fluffy. Add confectioners sugar, nutella and vanilla, beat for about 1 minute more. Add milk until desired consistency is achieved.
